Which Eco Cleansers Work?

Dishwashing Liquid

Bi-O-Kleen Hand Dishwash Liquid
with Grapefruit Seed Extract, Aloe, and Vitamin E
Bi-O-Kleen's sunny grapefruit scent says wake up and do the dishes. The sudsy liquid performs well in most circumstances, but the large cylindrical squirt bottle is hard to handle.

Ecover Natural Dishwashing Liquid
Ecover's unscented liquid comes in 16- or 32-oz. bottles. The lack of a grip feature works in the smaller size but makes the larger bottle unmanageable. Although Ecover doesn't produce much suds, it cleaned respectably well. But we had to had to use a lot more soap to get the job done than with the other liquids.

Planet Extra Strength Dishwashing Liquid
This mild, truly unscented, low-suds liquid comes in a 32-oz., old-fashioned hourglass bottle. Planet really cleaned up, especially on grease.

Life Tree Herbal Ultra Dish
This compact, 15-oz. hourglass bottle contains a mildly scented liquid. The consistency is somewhat thin but it did a fine job. It is featured in the Green Home store.

Summary
All these liquids performed quite well, so you may want to consider other factors, such as scent, suds, ease of use, and availability. Bi-O-Kleen smells wonderful but may be harder to find than some of the others. Planet is more widely available and is truly unscented.
